SPONSORED WALK 2023

On Saturday 1st July 2023, 11 volunteers took part in a Sponsored Walk to raise money for our Churches and for the parishes Saint Vincent de Paul Society. We gathered at the the Miller and Carter in Otterspool, before beginning our walk to the Royal Albert Dock.
To begin our journey, we walked past the leisure centre, and then down onto the promenade itself. The views over the Mersey were quite spectacular. The clouds were a light grey, with rain falling over the far side of the Wirral peninsula, but over on our side of the Mersey, the weather was just overcast, with a nice breeze to help us on our way!

Once we began the walk, we were able to meet up and have a chat with the other walkers within our group, and we were able to make good time in walking along the prom.

We made good time in our walk, and arrived at the Royal Albert Dock for 10:30. We stopped off for a nice cuppa (and we may have even had a biscuit or two!) . After we were rested, we started on the return journey back to Otterspool

We started back on our journey at 11:00, with the sun peeking through the clouds as we walked. The weather was starting to clear up, but the wind was still with us. We arrived back at the Miller and Carter in Otterspool, having walked the whole 8 miles (even with Fr Liam threatening to hire an electric scooter to get back to the starting point!). We finished the walk at 12:45, just in time to be home for lunch! A good walk was had by all, and the laughter and jokes sustained us on our way.
